So you want to learn to drive?

The best feeling ever is after passing your test, when you drive a car for the 1st time, the freedom, the independence, no more public transport or begging lifts!

Here at Wokingham Driving School, we can help you get to that goal.

The lessons will be tailored to your needs, we will work at your pace, and break down the tasks in to small steps that make it easy to learn.

By the end of our 1st lesson, you will have driven the car.

You will get personal online support with the Theory Test, from your instructor as standard (a service not provided by many other schools).

Advice on how to practice between lessons, parent information pack available on request.

Come and learn from someone who teaches other people to be driving instructors (I teach the teachers!)

Great pass rates

Number of successes with 0 faults is 10 times better than the national average.

Don’t worry if you’re nervous or unsure, many people feel the same when starting to learn to drive. We can work with you to over come any fears and eventually you will feel comfortable, confident and in control of your driving.

Places are limited, so, it is best to book in advance before you are wanting to start lessons, to ensure you get regular lessons at a time to suit you.

Wanting to change instructor or just moved areas?

Have you already had some lessons? Not a problem!

We can work with your existing knowledge and move you forward from that point, therefore saving you time & money.

Already taken a test and failed?

Contact us & we’ll help rebuild your confidence, assess your driving and help get you ready for the next attempt.

Under 17s

Aged over 14, interested in driving, get a head start and an extra qualification?

We can offer you a BTEC level 1 in Driver Awareness, where you will learn about different forms of transport, look at safety in driving, learn about how the car works & how to check it is all okay.

Once you are 17 (& passed the driving test) it is possible to take, BTEC level 2 Driver Awareness, which covers more than level 1 & includes additional driving assessments.

Useful tools for learners

The first thing you’ll want to do when learning to drive is to apply for your provisional license.  This will enable you to book your theory and driving test and makes you eligible to get behind the wheel and start to learn!

You can apply for your provisional license here.

Once you’ve started to learn, you’ll want to work towards passing your theory test.  You’ll need to pass the theory test before you can book your practical and we recommend completing the test whilst you are still having practical driving lessons.

You can book your theory test here.

Practise for your theory test using useful online tool, Theory Test Pro.

Once you feel ready to take your driving test, you’ll need to book it.  There are varying waiting times for different regions, which you can find out when you start the booking process.  Do this here.
